Letters to the Editor

From our Readers

Via email from K.A. on 02/19/2008

"I received the "Save Pier J Petition" and am puzzled by the reluctance of our President to take immediate action to shut down the operations at Pier J at the Port of Long Beach, inasmuch as it presents a threat to our national security.  When a president takes the oath of office he swears on the Bible to protect and defend the nation and its people.  It implies that it will retain sovereignty over all of its land to do so.  The present administration and Congress as well as the past administration and Congress have sold out our country to highest bidders.  The Chinese threat at this U.S. port has largely been ignored not only by the media, but by the government, with the exception of a few U.S. loyalists.  Is it any wonder? Because China owns much of the U.S. dollar.  It is at the nation's peril if inroads by the Chinese secret operations are allowed to continue on U.S. soil."

Dear K.A.:
We are puzzled too at the apathy on Capitol Hill and the White House about the China threat.

In Memoriam
William F. Buckley
1925-2008

He taught us to think, reason, laugh, play offense, win and even how to recover from losing and come back and win again. And he entertained us all while teaching us all transcendental values. Above all, he taught us to take the long view. Now without a doubt he will enjoy His reward for work good and well done, for all eternity. Especially for anti-communist, freedom lovers, discovering William F. Buckley, has been, for more than half a century, a defining moment. This man of history will continue to influence the destiny of our cause, our country and our world, for many years to come. Bill Buckley and his family are in our prayers. We will miss him.
